Noha Waibsnaider and Lauren Zaslansky Conner founded GatheringUs to bring together communities after the death of a loved one, to support each other and celebrate their life.

As members of large families, we planned numerous memorials and felt the challenges of organizing during these difficult times, when we are most in need of help. We yearned for an integrated way to feel connected, get support, and communicate with everyone in one place.

Friends since meeting at Columbia Business School over 20 years ago, we launched GatheringUs, a turnkey resource offering a free shared space for families to create an online memorial, publish an obituary, share memories and stories, along with photos and videos, create events to gather - on & offline, and designate a cause for their community to support in honor of their loved one. We believe creating a memorial page is an iterative process, to be updated when there is new information to share. And everyone in your community can see what's happening in real time and get updates on their phone or computer by logging in to GatheringUs.com.

Since we launched in 2018 we have had 25 million visits to the site, and over $1Million has been raised to support personal and charitable causes. At the beginning of the COVID pandemic we were one of the first organizations to offer virtual memorial events and distinguish ourselves as the leader in hybrid events. As The Wall Street Journal reported quoting a family member,

"Going online made it possible to assemble friends and family across the country... It allowed so many more people to be a part of it than might have been if we had done it in person, even in regular times."

We organized and facilitated 600 memorial events with over 100,000 guests.

We are proud to have offered an essential service at a time of need to so many families. We are here to help you create personal and meaningful ways to commemorate your loved ones, as we continue our mission of Celebrating Lives Together.
